KA is a theatrical masterpiece told through the physical language of
Cirque du Soleil. KA is the extraordinary and gravity-defying production
that takes adventure to a whole new level! It is the heroic tale into the world of love and conflict.
Set on a dynamic theatrical landscape, the
story of KA is a classic tale of two twins,
a brother and sister, who are sent on a
treacherous journey and this time we are
invited to come along. Black and white face
painting and the use of martial arts
techniques from all around the world give KA
a style similar to that of Japanese Kabuki
theater, which is actually where the show
gets its name. KA is unique in that it has
influences from not only Japanese culture,
but an array of other cultures
too.
One of
the most mystifying elements in the show is
the ever-evolving stage that transforms into
a floating barge, a beach, a snowy mountain,
and a violent sea in the midst of a storm.
The
surrounding stage elements make you feel
like you are a part of the set with the
action taking place all around you. At
different times during the show, the
performers enter the stage from the
audience. If you are sitting by the aisle
you might even see a warrior appear at your
side with a bow and arrow in hand, ready for
combat. Make sure to check out the
video below.
KA is rich with plot, characters, and a
sense of pride and power. This memorable
mixture of circus-like performers and
enchanting main characters tell a story that
will satisfy both seasoned theatergoers and
newcomers alike.
