Le Rêve (French for “the dream”) will
take you on a fantastic journey through a subconscious world.
Watch your dreams take flight in Le Rêve’s custom built
theater-in-the-round. Seats rise above a 1-million gallon tank
that allows performers to enter and exit from both sea and sky.
The theater itself houses 1606 seats, but not one is more than
12 rows up from the water. The seats are
oversized, plush, and very comfortable, making Le Rêve Theatre
the "dream" venue.
The in-the-round theater put guests at a
unique vantage point, but it also makes them feel like they are
part of the show as there is no clear line between the audience
and the stage. Gymnasts, aerialists and synchronized swimmers
appear from every angle at times ascending from the water,
descending from the high arched ceiling or running through the
theater and alongside the audience. If you are seated by an
aisle, you never know when you are going to look to your side
and see a masked face or other curious character staring at you.
While the performers dazzle the audience
on stage, in the air and from the water, what’s going on behind
the scenes is just as amazing. During the show there are 16
divers who aide performers underwater. There are also 100 hookah
regulators in the pool to help performers travel underwater or
to assist them when they are performing with their heads
submerged for long periods of time. Make sure to check out
the video below.
Eighty-seven performers from 17 different
countries make up the stunning and dynamic cast of Le Rêve. The
combination of state-of-the-art lighting and serene water
effects make Le Rêve one of the most beautiful and artistic
shows to date. The stage itself rises and falls from the water,
creating different spaces and platforms for the performers to
bring into play for their acrobatic attempts, including an
87-foot high dive. If the calming blue lighting and peaceful
water fountains don’t impress you, the simple amazement of human
ability will have you leaving the theater saying, “I must’ve
been dreaming.”
